The Student's Voice

Ankit Bansal2 min read

Parents researching. Relatives advising. Teachers recommending the "safe" option.

And somewhere in the middle, often, literally, in the middle of the room, the 17-year-old the decision is actually about. Supposed to be at the centre. Rarely feeling like it.

It's not because no one loves them. Everyone in the room loves them. It's because no one has a real process to bring them in to ask the right questions, in the right order, in a way that makes their answers matter. So the student does what feels safest. They follow the loudest voice. They say yes when they mean "I'm not sure." They pick the option that will end the conversation fastest. And when you ask them how they feel about it?

"I'm fine."

Not because they are. Because no one gave them a real way to figure out what they actually wanted let alone the space to say it.

The questions a student actually needs to answer aren't vague. They are specific. And they have real answers:

Which exams genuinely suit who I am? Out of hundreds of options, where do I even start? What are my realistic chances at my rank? What happens if the first choice isn't affordable?

Without structure, these questions stay unanswered. And the student stays quiet.

At UniTracko, the student is not an afterthought in this process. They are the whole point of it. Not just a process for families. A clear, personal path for the student, one that begins with who they are, what they are genuinely suited for, what's realistic at their rank, and where the right doors actually open.

The student shouldn't be the quietest person in the room.

They should be the starting point.

In your family - whose voice shaped the college decision most? And whose do you wish had been heard more clearly?
